Social Classroom is a fashion film in collaboration with designer Sakshi Jain, inspired by her experience of boarding school in India. Through the lens of governmentality, it examines how power functions in contemporary society via persuasion, punishment, regulation, and normalization, while exploring the tension between conformity and individuality. By highlighting the role of biases, categorization, and uniforms in shaping and controlling young minds, 'Hack Your School' emerges as a manifesto that urges students to reclaim their stolen identities within systems of disciplinary power.

Key Contributions

Bringing the concept to life through the creation of immersive assets and environments, setting up precise lighting, and carefully perfecting scale and character movement. Sound mixing and color grading were done to further refine and enhance the film’s overall atmosphere and visual language.

Concept

The animation follows a young student moving chaotically, abruptly slowing when the professor appears, signaling hierarchy and control, only to reveal in the final shot that the principal dean is the one pulling the strings, emphasized by the scale of the classroom versus the office.
